Optical module programming refers to the process of programming or modifying the internal memory of an optical module using a specific device (programmer/programming card). The MSA defines the software and hardware interfaces for the optical modules. Since different manufacturers design and manufacture optical modules according to the same protocol, the internal programming area is the same for modules from different manufacturers.


YXFiber’s  Encoding Board


YXFiber’s YXF-BOXV2 is an upgraded version of the YXF-BOX, adding encoding capabilities for 400G or 800G QSFP-DD and OSFP transmitters. Users can easily read and change the internal register values of the receiver through the I2C interface. Its lightweight and portable design makes it easy to carry, fulfilling users’ need to change receiver encoding anytime, anywhere. Also, this encoder board has a built-in package design and contains a custom encoding program. It supports batch coding changes and is compatible with Windows and Mac OS operating systems, greatly improving work efficiency. It is compatible with receivers of various packet types, including QSFP56, QSFP112, QSFP-DD, and OSFP (CMIS protocol support is required, SFF-8636 protocol is not supported). By changing the encoding, the same module can be compatible with multiple devices, overcoming the device compatibility limitations of traditional receivers and allowing modules to work normally on different brands of devices.
